I doubt you will be seeing any Bisexual Pride parades today. You may not even know that Sept. 23 is Celebrate Bisexuality Day around the world, which also raises awareness about the discrimination faced by many bisexual people — including, surprisingly, from some in the lesbian and gay communities. I’ve often written that the “T” might not really belong in “LGBT,” but the same could be said for the “B.”
However, we are all essentially One big family in this brotherhood/sisterhood of humankind. But LGBTQ people face particular — and similar — types of discrimination because of their sexual orientation and gender identities.
So, please give a thought today about the diversity and human rights of bisexual people.
And to all my bisexual sisters and brothers, Happy Bisexuality Day! We rock!
