It’s nice to see all the comments coming in to posts here. Some have mentioned — in response to the Intimate Grooming posts — that they use epilators. I, too, have used one, but have not had a lot of success with it. Sure, it removes the hair and I don’t have to shave my legs for quite a while afterward. Problem is, though, I often get red bumps that are in-grown hairs, and they take weeks to clear up. That is totally unacceptable at this time of the season, when I tend to bare/show off my legs.
Anybody else have unpleasant side effects from using epilators?

It’s a standard problem. The key with any kind of hair removal that removes the hair from the route is to exfoliate! Use a loofah or mitt and exfoliate the skin regularly. This helps to keep the skin soft and expose the tip of the hair as it starts to regrow. The thing is that as time goes on the hair follicle starts to weaken and shrink and eventually (as in my case) the hair just stops growing completely. This means often the hair isn’t strong enough to push through the skin layers, hence it gets trapped underneath. So exfoliation is very important. Also, moisturise to keep your skin supple.
