“And the meek shall inherit the Earth.”

Sometimes I need to step back from the struggle for LGBT rights and take a more transcendental view of the world . . . remembering such things as the human species as a whole is very much in an adolescent stage in its evolution, and still very caught up in superstitious belief systems. Of course, individually speaking, some people are more evolved than others. But in time, mankind will mature, after so many trials and tribulations and lessons learned the hard way, and all humans will have equal rights.

Meanwhile, I doubt very much that there is a personal God up there that cares at all about such issues as same-sex marriage or anything else that man fights about. But if there were  a God that cares about the affairs of life on Planet Earth, I would think God cries a billion tears every day when It sees what man is doing to the animal kingdom. I think God would weep for every farm animal and wild animal killed in the name of man’s supper . . . Indeed, I think God might point out that issues like same-sex marriage are nothing compared to the suffering experienced by so many meek and mild creatures . . .

That’s if there was a God, of course . . .
