I often hear nudists/naturists say that their partners aren’t interested in the subject and refuse to participate in social nudism events. Though, I haven’t heard of any couples separating over the issue. Mostly, the aforementioned naturists go alone to the various social events put on by naturist organizations, or to the beach or wherever.
In my case, my g/f is not into the social nudism scene, but she does participate with me, and perhaps a guest, at our home in the country on warm summer days. She accompanies me to Ottawa, where I am a member of the Ottawa Naturists group. But she won’t actually go to their social events. It’s not a big deal in our relationship — we both have a “live and let live” attitude about things.
How about my readers who are into nudism/naturism . . . Is your partner into it, too? If not, is it an issue in your relationship?

Both myself and my boyfriend are naturists. We go to naturism events together and hang out at home naked together. Wouldn’t have it any other way. 🙂

Wife is not into it sadly. She is tolerant of me going to events however. Sometimes she’s not supportive though, she just doesn’t “get” it. She won’t even join in if we are alone at home. She doesn’t like having to defend my lifestyle to her friends though, that upsets her.

Neither of us are big on social nudism and making a big ideological and/or political issue about everything, anymore than we are about social gatherings with clothed people who share similar interests. Maybe we just aren’t super social and that’s why we get along so well 🙂 We don’t feel compelled to be around people who are “like” us to be okay with ourselves and our private lifestyle as naturists. We would like to be able to be out and about without clothing, but the social aspect isn’t a big deal for us.
Live and let live, indeed. We don’t take separate vacations, simply because we enjoy being together when we have down time, rather than spending that rare time away from each other 🙂

Although I am not a member of any naturist groups, I do enjoy the feeling of freedom when visiting clothing optional beaches. My wife has joined me on a few occasions, both on a nude beach in Ibiza and at a naturist sauna in Holland, but she prefers to ‘tolerate’ my little ‘foible’ as I think she sees it. I like to be naked whenever I and wherever I can and would love for attitudes to social nudity to change for the better. We should all live and let live.

My wife and I got into naturism when we were still dating. She’d come from a home where nudity wasn’t commonly practiced, but if someone were to step out of the bathroom and walk to the bedroom nude, it wasn’t a big deal. On the other hand, I grew up very conservative and nudity of any kind was a private affair. Together, we’ve decided to embrace the naturist lifestyle at home. Her parents know, and support our decision, but ask that we cover up when they come over, which I don’t have a problem with. We’ve even taken our two daughters to a local naturist campsite, and they had an absolute blast. At-home nudity is the norm for our family, and we enjoy every minute of it.

My wife does not consider herself a nudist/naturist as me. She is not to comfortable regarding social nudism but will shed her clothes in the right place and with the right people. We will go together to nudist venues whenever possible.

I am a nudist and my current significant other tolerates my at home nudism. However, she is not a nudist herself and is seldom nude even in front of me. She has skinnydipped with me in our pool but that is about as far as it has gone.
For sometime I have searched for an open minded partner (female) to attend nudist events and venues with me but alas have never found anyone willing. 😦

Nudism is an important part of my life. I will not get involved with a woman who will not accept it. Those who are put off at the mention of my lifestyle are of no interest to me. That may seem kind of harsh, but life is too short to try to live someone else’s lifestyle

I met my husband of 20 years because we were both nudists having met online on a Bulletin Board where I was a moderator. My first husband would not tolerate my preferred way of living. He was way too jealous, which was one of the reasons we divorcd.

Phil & I have been naturists since we met over 30 years ago (he was into naturism before that), but we tend to keep our nudity for the beach & occasionally the back garden when the neighbours are away. We used to attend clothing optional health clubs but Phil developed angina & the heat of a sauna became too uncomfortable, so we stopped going. I can’t say that we walk around the house naked all the time, only in the mornings on a hot summer day or to/from the shower room. I guess that could mean we are not TRUE naturists, but it’s what we are comfortable with!

NatureGirl, Even when dressed, nudists are clothes-free beneath the clothing. I still accept others as they are when I am dressed as they might be.

We are nude 90% of the time, hate getting dressed and we love all of our couples friends from our resorts.
