Grumbles and groans . . . With up to 35 centimetres of snow bearing down on my neck of the woods in the next day or two, I guess I have to face up to it: winter is here, even if the calendar doesn’t agree.I think it is time to change the official start of winter from Dec. 21 to, say, Nov. 21. Yes, I know the official start of winter is all about the winter solstice, when the sun is farthest south. But let’s get real: winter is about ice, snow and misery . . . and it’s descending upon us tonight.
This is not autumn! It’s winter!
Sigh . . . so, today I will officially start wearing my winter coat . . . and sing California Dreamin’ — even if it is technically still autumn.
I’d be safe and warm
if I was in L.A
on such a winter’s day . . .
