Croatia, the European Union’s newest nation, has seen a large part of its population vote in some bigoted referendum to oppress the equality of same-sex couples by banning gay marriage. It’s being hailed as “a victory” for Catholic Church-backed Conservatives, according to an Associated Press report.

Sigh . . .

According to Wikipedia, “tourism (in Croatia) is a significant source of revenue during the summer, with Croatia ranked the 18th most popular tourist destination in the world. . . . Tourism dominates the Croatian service sector and accounts for up to 20% of Croatian GDP.”

Maybe not so much anymore, though, huh? I mean, why would anyone who supports equal rights for same-sex couples spend their tourism dollars in Croatia? You would think that vacationers will boycott the country on principle. Yes, I can see the country’s tourism revenue dropping considerably.
