I think some people who don’t celebrate Christmas feel a little overwhelmed at this time of the year by all the Xmas advertising and related goings-on, especially the Christmas music!
I’ve been exploring recently how Christmas can mean different things to different people, and how for me it is more about the winter solstice, and about the feelings of brotherly/sisterly love associated with the season. Indeed, I think the latter is what the “Merry Christmas” greeting is all about.
So, when I wish all of you a Merry Christmas, I am wishing you peace and love, as well as a happy holiday, no matter what spiritual beliefs you may or may not have.
So, in that spirit, Merry Christmas, dear readers!

Thank goodness the three months of christmas is nearly over. Just wondering if the first easter eggs will be in the shops before new year like last year…
