Early to bed, early to rise . . .
That has been my modus operandi recently as I find myself doing a 6 a.m. shift. I’m in bed by 8 the night before, and up as early as 3 a.m.
And, hey, no problem.
The key, of course, is getting a full night’s sleep. What I have discovered is that if you get your 6 to 7 hours, it doesn’t really matter what time you get up.
This is only temporary, though. But I could get used to it — though it feels weird going to bed so early. I feel like I am 6 years old again . . .
How about you? Are you an early riser?

Not here. I sleep till 10 or 11, but I go to bed between 2-3 AM.

I used to be a “late to bed, late to rise” type. After lo, these many decades in medicine and the Army, I get up early (not as early as you do right now, but earlier than most). With Hedgefund around, even more tendency to get up early, even ‘though she (almost) sleeps through the night.

For the last two years I have been getting up at 5:30am on a Monday morning to drive the 95 miles from home near Nottingham to work near Cambridge, which can take up to three hours. However, Tuesday to Friday I get up at 7:00am and walk from my B&B to work. I often find myself awake before 7:00am though, and I think that is because of the 5:30am Monday alarm. I go to bed 10:30-11:00pm whatever time I am due to get up.
That is due to come to an end and I am moving to back to the Malmö / Lund area of the Skåne region of Sweden for at least six months to 1st April. That should put an end to my 5:30am alarms.
I am hoping I shall be able to re-join the Svanrevet naturist club that I used to be a member of when I was last there in 2009-2001.
