We all have our guilty pleasures in life, especially when it comes to TV programs.

One of the shows I’m enjoying is certainly a guilty pleasure: Saving Hope. It really isn’t making any great social statements or anything. It’s just another medical drama series interwoven with the personal relationships of some of the staff.

But what I like most about it is that one of the doctors is able to talk to patients who are in the twilight zone, who have left their bodies and are hovering near death. Some of them are resuscitated and recover, and some slip off into the great beyond.

Those who come back don’t remember the conversations they had with the doctor while they were out of their bodies. And those who slip off aren’t heard from again.

I’ve always been intrigued by reports of the near-death experience, and this element in Saving Hope makes it unique. But it really isn’t a great series . . .

Still, I watch it.

How about you? What TV show is your guilty pleasure?
