Robyn Urback of the National Post has a good opinion piece about the Justin Trudeau story that is trending. The article’s headline says it all quite well: Trudeau took a picture with a topless woman? Yawn

Kudos to the copy editor who wrote that headline (from a copy editor who writes headlines, too, for a sister paper in the Postmedia chain).

I am only pointing to the National Post article because I see people are clicking into my blog here with search words like “justin trudeau with topless woman.” What people are finding here — beyond dozens of posts about Nudism/Naturism and the Go Topless movement — is a post about the Go Topless movement appealing to Justin Trudeau and Thomas Mulcair last year for help in giving women the same rights men have to bare their breasts in public places across Canada (they are already allowed to do so in Ontario).

And I wrote a post here on Wednesday about the hypocrisy in banning nudity in public places and on TV but allowing violent TV shows and films to be shown to the public on television and in cinemas.

But I don’t have much more to add to Robyn’s thoughts about Justin Trudeau having his picture taken with a topless woman at the 2014 Pride Parade in Toronto, Ontario (where it is perfectly legal for women to be topless in public). I just wonder if the same people who are howling about it now — during a federal election campaign — would be complaining if Justin had his picture taken with a topless man?
