We all know that a wink or a smile from an attractive woman can set a man’s heart all aflutter and send his imagination into overdrive . . .
Smiles . . .
Well, it works both ways. This evening, for example, I was sitting alone in the cafeteria at work, suffering from post-holiday letdown, when a handsome youngish guy who I’m sure has a thing for me — I mean, don’t they all? — walked past the open doorway, backtracked and waved to me with a smile on his face . . .
I had my headphones on, listening on my smartphone to the song No One Is To Blame by Howard Jones on YouTube, so I didn’t catch what my ‘admirer’ said — probably “Happy New Year!”
But his smile lifted my spirits. So here I am back at my desk, on the tail end of my dinner break, telling you all about it.
The moral of the story is: Never underestimate the power of your smile, guys. It can make somebody’s day, with very little effort on your part.

It doesn’t cost anything to smile and be nice towards others. It’s often amazing how much others respond to simple niceties. Just another thought 🙂

Jillian, an article on acceptable/non-acceptable ways for men to “admire” or be pleasant to women might be interesting – that is, for instance, the smiling v. cat calling, inviting a woman on a nude beach to join in on a volleyball game v. sitting next to her and trying to involve her in a conversation, etc.

That’s a good idea, Matthew. I’ll do one, and ask for input. I’ll get to it sometime this week.
