Montrealers are cheering U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s pick for a running mate.
After all, Kamala Harris is one of us.
Reports the Montreal Gazette: “Harris moved here with her sister and mother at age 12, graduating from Westmount High School in 1981 before returning to the U.S.”
The mayor of Montreal had this to say: “Mayor Valérie Plante offered her congratulations in a tweet, underlining Harris’s status as the first Black woman in U.S. history to be on a major party presidential ticket.”
I’m happy, too, and rooting for her and Joe to oust the current tweeter-in-chief from the White House.
But I don’t know much about Kamala’s politics.
Since this blog has more American readers than Canadian (especially for naturism subjects), I turn this post over to them.
Are you as happy about Joe’s choice as Montrealers are? Are Joe and Kamala going to boot Trump and co. out of the White House?
Do tell!

Am I the only one who thought that if Biden were to pick a woman, she was the only viable VP candidate? All the others have some serious negatives. He is older so he needed someone younger. Lack of experience at the highest level or lack of experience as an elected official ruled out the rest.

And by “Montrealer,” you of course mean “Westmounter.”

Yes, Westmount’s influence seems to reach around the world, apparently.

I’ll tell you a story about Westmounters’ influence in these parts some day. By the way, will we ever get to do lunch again?
