Global harmony was the last thing the geniuses running the ISIS campaign thought they would inspire with their terrorism campaign. They had hoped to spread fear and division. But it’s the opposite.
Or maybe that’s what ISIS leader Homer al-Rolex and his followers were really trying to do (NOT!). Maybe they were on a mission to unite the world (NOT!), knowing that it takes a global crisis like this to bring people together. I mean, why else would al-Rolex order his minions to stage terrorist attacks on Russia and France and threaten the United States and other nations? (Yes, I did write yesterday about somebody making a lot of money from this conflict, huh?)
Regardless, a global anti-ISIS coalition is shaping up (see Wall Street Journal article) as old foes like Russia and the United States team up to wipe out the scourge many are now calling Daesh. And, really, you don’t want to piss off the Russians. Their military doesn’t pussyfoot around. They’ll get the job done sooner rather than later, to the cheers of many in the West. They will show the U.S. how it is done.
Witness their attacks yesterday on Syrian targets, which some are calling “shock and awe — on steroids”: They sent in at least 25 Backfire, Bear and Blackjack bombers in what is being called the biggest bomber raid in decades. And that’s just the beginning.
Vladimir Putin’s air force just used its nuclear bombers to lay waste to the capital of the ‘Islamic State.’
The Russian air force just pulled off one of the biggest and most complex heavy bomber missions in modern history — sending no fewer than 25 Backfire, Bear, and Blackjack bombers on a coordinated, long-range air raid against alleged ISIS forces in Syria.
The Tuesday mission, which launched under the cover of darkness from a base in Ossetia in southern Russia, signaled a significant escalation of Moscow’s air war in Syria — and heralded the rebirth of Russian heavy bomber squadrons that once had withered from a lack of funding.Gen. Valery Gerasimov, chief of Russia’s general staff, announced the raid on Tuesday, calling it part of “a new plan [for] the air campaign.”
… Russian officials notified U.S. planners at a coalition headquarters in Qatar before the strike, Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook said. It was the first time the Russians and Americans have put into action an October agreement to coordinate their countries’ respective operations in Syria.
Needles to say, the ISIS maggots are on the run in the region, but you know the coalition will root them out.
ISIS is more than contained: they are losing ground. They will probably continue to stage terrorist attacks and try to disrupt life for people around the world with phony bomb threats and the like, but as I wrote earlier, they will never come close to global domination. People will pick up the pieces after their attacks, and carry on — together.
Let’s hope the spirit of co-operation between the U.S. and Russia continues after the ISIS threat is over.

The actions of ISIS are repugnant to to you and I but not Muslims. Their gorilla operations in Egypt and France was to demonstrate their strength to Muslims and greatly aids their recruiting efforts. It is a religious war in-spite of what world leaders are saying. They are in denial. IS is taking the long view. They are taking a world view. World wide Islam is growing and not liking the West for their treatment of ISIS. Achieving the caliphate is a major tenant of their faith.
Their major achievement in this round of warfare is the creation of a flood of Muslim refugees into Europe, US and Canada. While the West thinks they are defeating ISIS on the battlefield, Trojan horses have been invading the West. ISIS may lose this battle but their will be no end to this war in our lifetime.
ISIS, their predecessors and successors are of a mindset that this war will be fought until they achieve their caliphate. It has been so since Mohammed.

You forget they failed miserably there 30 years ago. But the time is right for “we’ll meet again, don’t know where, don’t know when” because everybody is re-armed to the teeth with new and “better” weapons all around. Sound familiar? War to end all wars? yeah, right %P%(

Of course there will never be a war to end all wars. It is not within mans nature. Constant warfare has been the norm since the evolution of man. Is see nothing that will change that in the present state of our evolution.
The idea that a group of politicians with good intentions can somehow create peace in the world is absurd. Best they have achieved so far is “mutually assured destruction”. That sounds warm and fuzzy. Creating stalemates is as good as we will get. We especially need to strive at a stalemate between us citizens and our own leaders who are constantly trying to dis-empower us.

Doh turn. Never?!? Never say never. The nukes are real. And they are there in quantity; because they are “game-changers” as far as human history goes. Not within man’s nature?!? Nice to know you think so highly of the human race. Survivors? I highly doubt that with the radioactivity to last 100s of years. Also with the Donald: “I would bomb the sh*t out of them!” oh, you’re one of those with a bomb shelter
