OK, the previous title of this post (Hillary Clinton: A French-Canadian U.S. president?) was somewhat of an overstatement. But many Quebecers are delighted to learn today that Hillary Clinton has French-Canadian ancestry. Apparently, the roots are quite deep.
And, according to a Canadian Press report, she is “a distant relative of many prominent Quebecers, including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Céline Dion.”
How cool is that!
You know who Quebecers are rooting for on Nov. 8.
Here’s the link to read more about Clinton’s connection to New France in the second half of the 1600s.

C’mon, Jillian. You’re better than to use click bait! And actually we DID have (arguably) a Canadian President at one time, Van Buren? I think. Maybe someone else. But calling Hillary Canadian is like calling Trump English just because the bloodline goes back there. Tsk tsk! 😉

lol. Guilty as charged, though I didn’t think of it as click bait. After all, the story says “Canada’s relationship with the White House could soon be cast as a family affair.”

lol. OK. I changed the headline. But you gotta know Quebecers will be claiming her as one of our own when she becomes President.

Yeah, whoever is Prez of the US tends to affect everyone in the world. Wish we offered better examples, though…

Well, I love Barack Obama. I wish he could stay on another term or three.

I wish Michelle had run with the understanding the Barack would actually be holding the reins!

Actually he’d then be German. However I agree with the change of headline. If want to claim the Quebec connection to prominent Americans, go with Jack Kerouac, or maybe Garand

Damn, I only read this just now. I was with her in New Hampshire tonight, and I would have shown this to her. Although, by, “with her,” I mean that I was in a room with Hillary and a few hundred other people, after she had just been in another room with a few thousand others!
